Basel is favourably located and is easily accessible by air, rail and car.

The international "EuroAirport" is only 10 minutes by car from the Baselworld show. Three different train stations in Basel provide direct connections to key European metropolises by high-speed trains.

Between the tightly-meshed public transport network in the Basel region and the exclusive Baselworld shuttle buses, you can enjoy complete and convenient freedom of travel.

By shuttle bus

The exclusive Baselworld shuttle buses link the show site directly to Basel EuroAirport, Zurich Airport and the landing stages for the hotel ships.

By air

The show venue can be reached conveniently and rapidly from two international airports. From EuroAirport Basel it takes just ten minutes by car and Zurich Airport is just under an hour away.
You will find a Baselworld Welcome Desk in both arrival halls.

Transfers
A shuttle bus service is provided at both airports to take you directly to the show venue.
The shuttle bus from EuroAirport Basel to the show costs CHF 5.-; the shuttle bus from Zurich Airport costs CHF 30.-
A taxi from EuroAirport Basel to the show costs around CHF 45.-

By rail

Being positioned at the heart of Europe, Basel benefits from excellent national and international rail links. The "Basel SBB/SNCF" and "Basel Badischer Bahnhof" train stations are in the near vicinity of the show site. You will find an official Baselworld Welcome Desk at "Basel SBB/SNCF" train station.

Transfers
You can reach Baselworld by tram (alighting at "Messeplatz/Exhibition Square"):
  • From "Basel SBB/SNCF" train station: tram No. 2 or 1 (an 8-minute ride) 
  • From "Basel Badischer Bahnhof" train station: tram No. 2 or 6 (a 2-minute ride)

A taxi to the show site costs around CHF 25.- from "Basel SBB/SNCF" train station and around CHF 15.- from "Basel Badischer Bahnhof" train station.

The show site is only five minutes on foot from "Basel Badischer Bahnhof" train station.

SBB RailAway offers special tickets at a reduced price in cooperation with Baselworld (valid from all Swiss train stations to the show venue (Messe Basel) and back).

  • Baselworld Combi - Valid for a return rail journey to Basel, transfer by tram, and admission to the show for one person. (The voucher for the show can be exchanged for an official admission ticket at the show ticket office.) 
  • Baselworld RailTicket - Valid for a return rail journey to Basel and transfer by tram, without admission to the show. 
  • Baselworld RailCard - An unlimited number of return journeys to Basel between 20.03 and 30.03.2016, transfer by tram, without admission to the show. 
  • With GA travelcard (General Abonnement) – Purchase show ticket at a reduced price at any train station. (The voucher for the show can be exchanged for an official admission ticket at the show ticket office.)

In cooperation with Baselworld, Deutsche Bahn (German Railways) is offering special tickets for those travelling to the show by train.

By car

Simply follow the signs to the "P-Messe" car park and the directions of the officers on traffic duty. We recommend you to use the convenient "Park&Ride" facility offered by Basel City Transport.

Park&Ride parking spaces cost CHF 30.- / EUR 30.- per day. This covers the cost of parking and the bus transfer to the show site and back.

To drive on Swiss motorways you require an annual motorway sticker ("Vignette"). This costs CHF 40.-  and can be obtained at border crossing points and post offices.

By public transport

The Basel region boasts a comprehensive network of public transport. Both trams and a large number of bus routes are available to take you rapidly and reliably to your desired destination - either within the city boundaries or beyond.

The tram pass (for tram and bus journeys in zones 10 and 11), which is valid for the full duration of the show, costs CHF 40.- and can be purchased at the Baselworld Shop on Messeplatz/Exhibition Square, at ticketing/cash in Building 2 and also at the Welcome Desk at SBB Railway Station.

Visitors staying at hotels in Basel can use the city’s public transport free of charge. You will be given your “Mobility Ticket” when you check in at your hotel.
