Mulhouse is in southern Alsace, France. The Rathaus, the town hall, is a Renaissance jewel set in the heart of the town's historic center. It makes a charming contrast with the modern architecture of the Europa tower. Mulhouse is the European center for scientific and industrial museums such as the National Automobile Museum, the French Railways Museum and the EDF Electricity Museum. The zoological and botanic gardens are well worth a visit. There are over a thousand animals.
