The new era is dawning on April 25, 2013
BASELWORLD 2012 closed its doors today after eight highly successful days. With 104,300 (+1% / 2011) professional visitors from all the different continents, the show recorded a top-notch result once again. The exhibitors declared themselves to be highly satisfied with the course of business and with the media presence: 3,320 journalists (+9%) marks a new record. And now the completely revamped BASELWORLD 2013 World Watch and Jewellery Show next spring is being eagerly awaited.

For the international watch and jewellery industry, the New Year will only be starting on March 8, 2012, when BASELWORLD, the World Watch and Jewellery Show, opens its doors to the specialist trade, as an established industry highlight. For a period of eight days, the key brands of the luxury goods sector will be presenting their innovations in Basel.
New building for BASELWORLD 2013

New building for BASELWORLD 2013: topmost point reached. After only four months' construction work, the steel structure for the building over Exhibition Square for BASELWORLD 2013 is now in place. The topmost point of the impressive hall complex has thus been reached. The building work is progressing on schedule.
The new building at the Basel Exhibition is visibly taking shape. The centrepiece of the new hall complex for BASELWORLD 2013 has now been erected: the 32-metre high construction over Exhibition Square. The steel structure is in place for the two exhibition storeys, both with a height of 8 metres, which are being built above the 10-metre-high "City Lounge".

The World Watch and Jewellery Show BASELWORLD has received the GACG Award 2010 in Paris from the Global Anti-Counterfeiting Group (GACG) for its endeavours in the fight against product piracy and for the protection of intellectual property.

BASELWORLD supports the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC)
BASELWORLD is the first trade show for watches and jewellery to become an official supporter of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), supporting the activities of the RJC with the aim of anchoring ethical principles in the jewellery industry.
The RJC, which has its Head Office in London, is committed to promoting a jewellery industry worldwide which respects human rights and engages in social and environmentally compatible practices.
The RJC currently has a membership of 230 companies, who are setting out to strengthen their customers’ confidence in the sector.

Software producer, Sitecore, has named the new BASELWORLD website the best website in the "International: Best Consumer Site" category. Sitecore's Site of the Year competition recognises outstanding websites that have been compiled with Sitecore software.
