Let’s go shopping

Showcases for jewellery and many other items are on display in Hall 4

Dsign ShowcaseIf you are looking for interior design for your shop, then Hall 4 has everything you need. Artexpo (4.1, H03), for example, has designed its stand to emulate a complete store with tables, showcases and a reception desk. “This setup enables visitors who come to our stand to form a first impression of what their shop could potentially look like,” says General Manager Roberto Arnone, who is responsible for sales at Artexpo. This Italian supplier is presenting its complete range of products at Baselworld. Artexpo’s portfolio is distinguished by its impressive combination of high-tech and Italian design. “We always try to be technically ahead of the market,” Roberto Arnone explains.

What he means by this can be seen, for example, in the showcases which his company is presenting at Baselworld. For these showcases, Artexpo offers a wide range of opening mechanisms, which range from the traditional key-lock variant to modern digital fingerprint solutions. The opening mechanism can also be triggered via smartphone or smart card. The control system is quite versatile, and so too are the ways in which these showcases open. In an automatic version, for example, the entire glass is lifted from the showcase’s body, thus making the exhibiting panel accessible. But there’s also a drop-down opening. This system allows one panel of glass to disappear into the body of the showcase.

Roberto Arnone emphasises that each individual product at Artexpo is tailored to meet the specific needs of its customer. This bespoke approach also applies to the supplier D&sign, which comes from Italy, too, and is exhibiting in Hall 4 (4.1, F05).

“We offer our customers two options,” owner Michele Gregori explains. “Either we visit the customers on-site, discuss their ideas and visions, and then develop a complete concept that is tailored to them and their needs, or else we can adapt our own products to suit the customer.”

The products which D&sign offers also include showcases and an electronic lighting system called ‘SpinLed’. It is designed by D&sign in collaboration with Casambi, an expert for wireless lighting technology. SpinLed can be controlled manually or via a specific app installed on a smartphone or a tablet. This app allows the user to control a single light or a group of lights.

Michele Gregori explicitly points out that although D&sign is an Italian company, its activities are not limited to Europe. “Everything we offer is made in Italy, but we deliver and install all over the world.”
