Zenith launches detailed new edition of the El Primero A384 from 1969

Fifty years: now that’s a good reason to celebrate! Following the limited anniversary set comprising three watch models which Zenith presented at the beginning of the year and at Baselworld, the Swiss manufacture now launches a stylish new edition of what is probably the most famous chronograph of all time, the El Primero.

Launched in 1969, this timepiece was a real eye-catcher with its unprecedented and fully integrated automatic calibre, a power reserve of 50 hours, the ability to measure elapsed intervals to the nearest tenth of a second, and a more than bold design. To reproduce this as faithfully as possible, every single component was digitized: from the faceted stainless steel case with a diameter of 37 millimetres to the lacquered, white and black tachymeter dial.

The only differences between the new A384 and the original are the use of a sapphire crystal and a transparent case back to provide a view of the El Primero 400 chronograph calibre. The cool retro look is rounded out by a black alligator leather strap with rubber lining. To the delight of collectors, the El Primero A384 Revival is an unlimited edition.
