State of the art
The unusual aspects are hidden in the details: At first glance, the L.U.C XPS Twist QF looks at first like a classic example of haute horlogerie, but closer scrutiny discovers its strikingly asymmetrical case and dial. The subdial for the seconds is off the central axis; the crown occupies an unconventional position at the 4. This transforms a classic beauty into a remarkable debutante, which also has many impressive inner virtues.
Automatic Calibre 96.26-L is made by the Chopard Manufacture. It is a variant of Calibre 96.01-L, but rotated 30 degrees. Although Chopard’s Twin technology lends the watch a lengthy 65-hour power reserve, the movement is so thin (a mere 3.3 mm) that it can fit into an elegantly slim case. The latter is made of ethically certified ‘Fairmined’ white gold. Chopard is a pioneer in the use of ecologically and ethically correct raw materials.
This watch has proven its excellence in a test administered by the Fleurier Quality Foundation, which verifies not only the precision of the movement but also the high quality of the case and wristband. The quality of the workmanship is scrutinised according to the criteria of haute horlogerie. Furthermore, the watch must be manufactured 100 percent in Switzerland. Having fulfilled all criteria, this model earns the right to bear the ‘QF’ seal of the Foundation.
The new L.U.C XPS Twist QF is limited to 250 watches.
