Finest understatement
Launched in 1932, the Calatrava is the manufactory’s most beautiful expression of stylish elegance. A symbol of Genevan savoir-faire, it epitomises the circular wristwatch per se and is often cited as the classic “dress watch”.

At Baselworld 2019, Patek Philippe presented this iconic timepiece with a weekly calendar. Reference 5212A shows the date in a window and has two central hands to indicate the days of the week, the calendar week and the month. These displays are supported by new self-winding manufacture Calibre 26-330 S C J SE, which concatenates 304 components. The movement can be viewed through a pane of sapphire crystal in the back of the 40-millimetre-diameter case.
This debutante is the first serially manufactured model in the Calatrava line with a steel case. A typeface that was specially designed for this watch makes the numerals look as though they were handwritten.
