Travel information

Basel is favourably located and is easily accessible by air, rail and car. The international "EuroAirport" is only 10 minutes by car from Baselworld. Three different train stations in Basel provide direct connections to key European metropolises by high-speed trains.

By Air

The show venue can be reached conveniently and rapidly from two international airports. From EuroAirport Basel it takes just ten minutes by car and Zurich Airport is just under an hour away. You will find a Baselworld Welcome Desk in both arrival halls.


A shuttle bus service is provided at both airports to take you directly to the show venue. The shuttle bus timetables and prices will be available as of February 2020. More information about the timetable and prices will follow at the end of February 2020.

by Rail

Located in the heart of Europe, Basel is excellently linked by national and international rail, and its three train stations (SBB, SNCF, Badischer Bahnhof) are all fairly close to the show site. There is an official Baselworld Welcome Desk at "Basel SBB/SNCF" train station.


You can reach Baselworld by tram (alighting at "Messeplatz/Exhibition Square")
From "Basel SBB/SNCF" train station: tram No. 2 or 1 (an 8-minute ride)
From "Basel Badischer Bahnhof" train station: tram No. 2 or 6 (a 2-minute ride)
A taxi to the show site costs around CHF 25.- from "Basel SBB/SNCF" train station and around CHF 15.– from "Basel Badischer Bahnhof" train station. The show site is only five minutes on foot from "Basel Badischer Bahnhof" train station.

Price of an Event Ticket for single journey from and to Basel Badischer Bahnhof. (subject to availability):

By Car

Simply follow the signs to the "P-Messe" car park and the directions of the officers on traffic duty. We recommend you to use the convenient "Park&Ride" facility offered by Basel City Transport.

To drive on Swiss motorways you require an annual motorway sticker ("Vignette"). This costs CHF 40.-  and can be obtained at border crossing points and post offices. 

By Public Transport

The Basel region boasts a comprehensive network of public transport. Both trams and a large number of bus routes are available to take you rapidly and reliably to your desired destination – either within the city boundaries or beyond.

The tram pass (for tram and bus journeys in zones 10 and 11), which is valid for the full duration of the show, costs CHF 42.- and can be purchased at the Baselworld Shop on Messeplatz/Exhibition Square, at ticketing/cash in Building 2 and also at the Welcome Desk at the SBB Railway Station. Visitors staying at hotels in Basel can use the city’s public transport free of charge. You will be given your “Mobility Ticket” when you check in at your hotel. Trams to Baselworld (alight at "Messeplatz/Exhibition Square"):
