Although blue still calls the tune in the watch world for chromatic experi-ments beyond the scope of ever-popular black and white, a new trend to-ward green dials is beginning to become apparent. With green watches, the watch brands also reflect one of the leading hues in the Pantone Color Institute’s “Fashion Color Trend Report” for the spring of 2018. As a glob-ally acknowledged authority on colours, Pantone has welcomed arcadia as a new tone. Here’s a selection of the latest offerings at Baselworld 2018.
Omega Seamaster Olympic Games Collection
The Seamaster Olympic Games Collection celebrates a long-standing partnership: Omega has served as offi-cial timekeeper for the Olympic Games on 27 occa-sions since 1932. Now Omega is launching a Seamaster series in the colours of the Olympic rings: alongside trendy green, the hues include black, yellow, blue and red. Self-winding Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 ticks inside this watch’s stainless steel case.

Corum Heritage La Grande Vie
“La Grande Vie” is an appropriate name for the new collection in this Swiss brand’s Heritage line, which celebrates fine understatement in expressive colour schemes. Thanks to the fumé style, the gradation of colours on the dial of this two-handed mechanical watch becomes progressively more intense as it ap-proaches the periphery.
Glashütte Original Sixties Panorama Date
This limited edition of the popular Sixties retro collec-tion is absolutely up to date with a green tone that brightens the dégradé dial, which is fabricated in Glashütte Original’s own dial manufactory. The exqui-site dégradé decor creates a transition from a lighter shade of green in the dial’s centre to a darker nuance along the cambered periphery of the dial, which is styled in this line’s characteristic manner.
Rado True Thinline Quartz
This Swiss brand, which is famous for its special ex-pertise in materials, brings green into the super-slim True Thinline in the form of an expressive leaf-like pattern on the dial. A case made of brilliant green high-tech ceramic surrounds the verdant face.
Frédérique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture
The Classic Worldtimer Manufacture made a big splash at its debut thanks to its sophisticated manufacture technology. This self-winding world-time watch now appears in a new green-coloured pattern at Basel-world 2018. As in previous editions, here again a richly detailed world map graces the dial, while our globe’s 24 time zones are represented on the flange.
