Regulator Classic Blue Steel
Year after year, decade after decade, watch aficionados’ love for the colour blue never fades. So, to celebrate horology’s passion for blue, Chronoswiss is unveiling what could possibly be the bluest watch in the world.
Chronoswiss’ regulator complication is a specialty for the brand. Just like a car separates the speed from the tachymeter, the regulator has separate hands for the hours, minutes and the seconds. The brand calls it the “Dashboard of time” and even if it looks contemporary in terms of its design, the complication is over 200 years old.
This Classic Blue Steel version features a galvanised midnight blue dial that has a guilloché subdial. It also has a skeletonized small second display at six o’clock, offering a glimpse of the automatic movement beneath. The hands are lacquered in a slightly brighter shade of blue and have been enhanced with SuperLumiNova® for improved readability, both during the day and at night.
The stainless-steel case is also of particular note as it has been coated with a blue PVD treatment that accentuates the collection’s fluted case sides and generous onion-shaped crown. The Chronoswiss Classic Blue Steel is paired with a hand-stitched alligator strap that has been coloured with several layers of midnight blue and black. This manual colouring process results in a truly unique strap that comes in the perfect shade of blue, of course!
