Ice blue and a new square

Bering Time launches the ice blue of the Arctic and a square dial into the Max René range

The new pure and timeless watch by prize-winning Danish designer Max René for Bering Time sets the square standard. The collaboration began a few years back, and soon, a unique interchangeable strap system was added to the Max René watch – giving a single watch design a wide combination of looks thanks to a variety of straps in Milanese mesh and a selection in colourful silicon, thus making numerous combinations of nuances and textures possible within mere seconds.Bering Watch

In addition to yesteryear’s round models, angular cases have now been developed by Bering for the first time, and they match the elegant simplicity of the contemporary dial with a matte silvery look with corners and edges. In conjunction with the changing system of the bracelets, there are no limits to a new, modern look. Sleek and elegant, the watches are each available in four variants for ladies and men, in a unique synergy of high-quality materials, Danish minimalism and high functionality. “We have refined the sliding technology of the straps over the course of the years,” says Max René, describing his design process with Bering Time. “We are therefore particularly excited about this marvellous event,” the designer – many of whose watches are on permanent exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York – finishes with great pride.

True to the brand DNA of Bering Time, the company has chosen to focus this year’s other news on the colours and lights of the Arctic Sea. At sunrise and sunset, the landscape’s colour palette ranges from a delicate pink to a deep dark red, and the hypnotic aurora Borealis effect is world-famous, above all for its bright green. However, when asked about the typical colours of the Arctic, two colours certainly appear in the mind‘s eye: white and ice blue. White is of course the shade of frost and snow. The blue of the sea and the sky, and of blue glaciers, on the other hand, are splashes of colour lending the scene life, movement and fascination. Bering Time has succeeded in immortalizing this interplay in its latest creation: charms and earrings in an impressive ice blue, combined with silver-coloured steel, symbolise the sea, sky and eternal ice, and these perfectly combine with the purist watches from the company.

The popular Arctic Symphony collection from Bering offers countless combination possibilities, especially thanks to the unique Twist & Change System. “With Arctic Ice Blue, we have succeeded in capturing the fascination of the Arctic. You plunge into the pure, clear, cool and invigorating world of ice. The light ice blue and the silver steel complement each other perfectly and represent the idea of the Bering brand,” finishes Lars Gram-Skjønnemann, one of the founders of Bering Time.
