Dive in style
Rolex adds a new timepiece to the Sea-Dweller line: This legendary diver’s watch is now available for the first time in a yellow Rolesor version, combining Oystersteel and yellow gold. The bezel, winding crown and centre links of the bracelet are made from 18-karat yellow gold, while the case and outer links of the bracelet are fabricated from Oystersteel.
This deep-diving debutante stylishly combines the precious metal with a black dial. Other details closely follow the characteristics of the line. The 43-mm Oyster case features a unidirectional rotatable bezel with a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom insert in black ceramic. The new version is equipped with the self-winding mechanical calibre 3235. This new-generation movement, which stands apart thanks to its superior performance, incorporates the Chronergy escapement, developed and patented by Rolex, and guarantees a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. The robust Oyster case is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 1,220 metres. Rolex achieves this extreme pressure resistance by equipping the hermetically screwed-down case with its Triplock triple waterproofing system for the winding crown. The helium escape valve, patented by Rolex in 1967, serves as a safety valve: It allows excess pressure, built up in the watch’s case during a dive, to escape during the decompression phase in a hyperbaric chamber.
Like all Rolex watches, the Sea-Dweller carries the Superlative Chronometer certification, testifying that it successfully underwent a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories.
